The EPA has proposed regulatory revisions to the National Primary Drinking Water Regulation for Lead and Copper. The proposed revisions include a suite of actions that approach the problem of lead contamination in drinking water. These actions focus on: identifying areas most impacted; strengthening treatment requirements; replacing lead service lines; increasing sampling reliability; improving risk communication; and protecting children in schools. The EPA Science Advisory Board is reviewing the scientific and technical basis of the proposed regulatory revisions to the National Primary Drinking Water Regulation for Lead and Copper.
