EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation (OAR) has requested the SAB review the Clean Air Status and Trends Network (CASTNET) and provide advice on the future operations and mission of the network. CASTNET is a rural ambient air monitoring network that provides information on air pollution trends in national parks and rural State and Tribal lands. The network has provided information on acid rain, impacts of climate change on air quality, mercury deposition, ammonia, fine particle concentrations and ozone air pollution.
